MCAD Optimization for AR/VR/MR

CADfix Viz optimizes 3D CAD model assets for use in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR). CADfix Viz increases application connectivity and interoperability and allows engineers to save valuable time converting and repurposing complex CAD data for VR/AR/MR.

A derivative of CADfix Data Exchange, a mature and sophisticated geometry handling software, CADfix Viz employs robust and efficient tools for the cleaning and converting of CAD data.

Importing complex CAD from multiple native and neutral formats, removing unwanted features and internal parts, and exporting optimized lightweight faceted formats; CADfix Viz seamlessly repurposes CAD data for VR/AR/MR, all through an intuitive user interface with a high level of automation.

Generating lightweight models

CADfix Viz removes unwanted small parts, features, and internal details, reducing the total number of facets required to sufficiently represent the model. It also supports curved triangular facets to capture model accuracy with massively reduced triangle counts. During the export process, CADfix Viz can also perform the decimation of facets to further reduce triangle count and file size. The total polygon count is reduced through user-controlled decimation tolerances. All these things contribute to the generation of a more practical, lightweight file.

CADfix Viz imports data from various applications: CATIA V5, CATIA V4, Creo, NX, CADDS 5i, SOLIDWORKS, Solid Edge, Inventor, IGES, STEP, Parasolid, SAT, DXF/DWG, JTOpen, STL, VDA-FS, 3DS Max, IFC.

CADfix Viz offers export to common AR/VR/MR formats including FBX, gITF, OBJ, VRML, XGL/ZGL, as well as to common CAD vendor lightweight formats such as CGR, CreoView, JT, and other custom formats.
